April 5th Wednesday 11am

Wednesday Walk - Gate Lodges of the Phoenix Park.

This walk will look at the gate lodges of the Phoenix Park, capturing the architecture and history of some of these unique lodges which were designed by Decimus Burton Francis Johnston and Jacob Owen.

Sunday Talk- Decimus Burton a Landscape Designer and Architect who oversaw major landscape and architectural changes in the Phoenix Park.

Wednesday Walk - Prehistory of the Phoenix Park.

A walk covering the ancient history of the land that is now the Phoenix Park, including a Neolithic burial cist.

Sunday Talk - Biodiversity of the Phoenix Park

A Talk and walk on many species of flora and fauna found in the Phoenix Park.

Wednesday Walk -Phoenix Park Murders.

Guided walk to the site of the political assassinations of Burke and Cavendish.

Sunday Talk - Ashtown Castle

A talk and tour of Ashtown Castle, a 17th century medieval Tower house.

Sunday Talk -The Viceregal Lodge 1782 – 1922 and a short video on the history of Aras an Uachtarain.

Wednesday Walk- Celtic Tree Trail

The Celts believed each tree had its own personality and meaning.  Learn about their uses through history and why trees are so important.

Sunday Talk- In the Victorian Walled Garden

The Victorian Walled Garden featuring the history of the garden plus information on the planting scheme.
