Road and Gate Closures

The following are details of any current and future scheduled road and gate closures in the Phoenix Park.


Bord Bia Bloom Festival – Thurs, 30th May – Mon, 3rd June 2024

Please note that in order to facilitate Bloom 2024, diversions for vehicular and pedestrian traffic for access to the Visitor Centre and Playground in Ashtown Demesne will be in place on Monday 27th May, Tuesday 28th May and Wednesday 29th May.  Access to the Visitor Centre on Monday 27th May and from 4.00pm on Tuesday 28th May will be from a temporary car park at the rear entrance on North Road only.  These facilities will not be accessible to the public from 4.00pm on Tuesday 28th May to Thursday, 5th June, other than visitors to the Bloom event that is taking place between 30th May – 3rd June.

Furthermore, the No. 99 bus stop at the Visitor Centre Car Park will be temporarily located on Chesterfield Avenue from Monday 27th May to Sunday 9th June.  The stop will be located at the junction of Chesterfield Avenue and Furze Road.  The No. 99 will operate its usual hours during Bloom.

Please note that it is Left Turn Only on Entry into the Phoenix Park via Ashtown Gate.  We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

North Road One-Way System

From 10am Monday 28th February 2022, the North Road will commence a one-way system, in the City direction only, for the duration of a 9-month pilot study.

Upper Glen Road cul-de-sac

From 10am Monday 28th February 2022 the Upper Glen Road will commence a 9-month pilot cul-de-sac
